Jen Schmidt didn't even know what a blog was three years ago. Now she's won $5,000 for herself and $6,500 for a charity of her choice because of her blog, beautyandbedlam.com.
Schmidt is a stay-at-home mother of five – the "family manager," as she calls herself. They live in Stokesdale.
Hillshire Farm sought out Schmidt because of the popularity of her blog, which gets 180,000 page views a month. She and 14 other popular bloggers were invited to participate in a recipe contest
